Well today was a day of firsts for sure.
This past weekend Jules and I were invited to the Acura ILX experience event, held at Candlestick Park. Put on by Acura and Autoweek, I qualified to attend through Klout, and was quick enough on the trigger to sign up for a spot. (aka Klout provided us with this) We headed up to Candlestick park on a beautiful Sunday morning to drive the new ILX on a close course or a highway.
I had never driven (a full sized car) on a closed course before nor had I ever driven an Acura. They even had a hybrid on hand to test drive as well which was also a first. The event was very well put together and they had plenty of things for people to do/see. From a test drive, to an SCVNGR scavenger hunt for the drawing, to a “lifestyle” tent that housed some catered food and the car from the Avengers (more on that in a sec).
To put it frankly, it was awesome.
An added bonus for me was a little nugget that I discovered on the Acura “Supercar” from the Avengers. I saw the movie and though it was fantastic but I couldn’t pick out what the license plate said when Tony was driving it around in the movie.
Turns out, the license plate said “STARK 33”. This is mind-blowingly epic for one reason- I have an arc reactor inspired tattoo and a 33 tattoo (lucky number). So that means I can take this car home right?
(Sadly that was not the case. Thank you Acura, Autoweek, and Klout for letting us have this awesome experience)
